This is much better to use than the traditional in-alphabet serial encoder. We can then use the serial command to make a hash of the password and put it through another tool like John the Ripper:
One of our most useful tools for coding, encoding, and decoding passwords is the c serial command: c:serial. The serial tool can decode any of the many forms of passwords and encodes them into a series of binary values, which can then be encoded as a hash in the form of a password. The basic syntax is then something like this:
Running a command and leaving it open works just fine. However if you want to automatically save the output of a command, you can do so via a shell script. The shell script will run the command and then save the output to a text file. Let's say we are interested in the latest log files that have been uploaded to a server.
To send a command to be executed, escape the command's output using back-slash. The backslash illustrates a special character that tells the shell to send the output of the command in-line. Just put the command in-line following the leading backslash followed by a space and the regular text to execute. We saw this in example: 7211a4ac4a
