Abstract:Cannabis sativa L. plant is currently attracting increasing interest in cosmetics and dermatology. In this review, the biologically active compounds of hemp are discussed. Particularly the complex interactions of cannabinoids with the endocannabinoid system of the skin to treat various conditions (such as acne, allergic contact dermatitis, melanoma, and psoriasis) with clinical data. Moreover, the properties of some cannabinoids make them candidates as cosmetic actives for certain skin types. Hemp seed oil and its minor bioactive compounds such as terpenes, flavonoids, carotenoids, and phytosterols are also discussed for their added value in cosmetic formulation. Keywords: Cannabis sativa; cannabinoid; endocannabinoid topical; hemp seed oil
The way around this, he contends, if one is going to defend thecosmological argument, is to opt for a different ontology, namely, genuine modal realism (mere possibilities are also real), which heclaims not only can legitimize the cosmological argument but avoidsthe above problems. According to Almeida, modal realism makeslibertarian free will compatible with necessitarianism in that twopossible worlds can have the same history H up to timet, but at t, A occurs in one world and not inanother world. The two histories do not determine whether A or-A occurs, but all possibilities necessarily occur. To makethis work Almeida fudges on the principle of the identity ofindiscernibles. Although the two series H and H* up tot are identical, there is not one series H that forks att. Rather, there are two series, such that at t Acan occur in one series and -A can occur in another. The pastdoes not necessitate the future. Similarly, lawless or chaotic worlds,i.e., worlds lacking relations following a causal principle, arepossible, so that it is possible and hence necessary that causelessevents occur. In such a world the cosmological argument would stillhold, he claims, because the principle of sufficient reason, compatible with the falsity of the causal principle, still holds. Thisanalysis, he thinks, frees the defender of the cosmological argumentfrom problems that trouble traditional formulations. 2b1af7f3a8
